Much has been made about the numerous delays that have befallen the third game in the Crackdown series. In all honesty, I could probably cut and paste the same review, change a few things, and have a complete (and honest) review of 2019’s Crackdown 3. Glad it was on Game Pass - definitely NOT a $60 gameĥ0% Xbox OneBefore beginning to write this review, I sat down and read the review of the original Crackdown that I wrote almost 12 years ago. I'd recommend doing that and not 100%ing it or anything. So yeah, what I did was go for all the obvious agility and hidden orbs, maxed out explosives and strength so I was an absolute tank, and beat most of the bosses. Once you've played 2 hours, you've played pretty much the whole game. I didn't even attempt the multiplayer because I heard it was total trash. Bad: The volume mixing is super weird and inconsistent. It starts pretty tough, then is fairly balanced for about 1/3rd of the game, and then the last half you're super OP. I laughed at it a lot and it didn't bother me only because I had the game on mute half the time so I didn't have to hear it. Mid: The voice acting is so over the top that it oscillates between cringe-worthy and hilariously bad. The combat, particularly explosives and melee, is a lot of fun. Pros: Hunting for agility orbs and hidden orbs is still an absolute blast. Most of the same strengths and weaknesses exist from the 1st game until now. If you played either of the other Crackdown games, you know what to expect. 60% Xbox OneI'm disappointed because of the potential that this game had more so than I am actually experiencing it.
